The Tongue Hotel in Scotland is steeped in Highland history and was once an iconic sporting lodge. Recently opened after an extensive refurbishment, the Hotel is nestled in the peaceful village of Tongue. We have beautiful views overlooking the Kyle of Tongue, Ben Loyal and Castle Varrich, which offers our guests a glimpse into the past. We’re also perfectly situated along the NC500, which makes us a great stop off point during your journey.
Built in the mid 1800s by the Duke of Sutherland, the building was originally used as an old hunting lodge before being converted into a hotel. Today, guests can experience stunning bedrooms, exceptional food and drink in Varrich Restaurant & Bar, and socialise with the locals in the Brass Tap Bar.
Many of our rooms also still include beautiful original features such as wood panelling, authentic paintings, and antique furnishings. You can feel the depth of history when you walk through the door!
When you stay with us at the Tongue Hotel, you’re not only visiting an enchanting local landmark, but also receiving great Scottish Hospitality from our warm and enthusiastic team!
